Dirrerence between Hazard & Risk:Safety officer

The basic difference is that a hazard is something that will cause harm, while a risk is the possibility that a hazard may cause harm. Although they are used synonymously, knowing the difference could save your life or allow you to enjoy it more thoroughly.
In essence, a hazard will not be risky unless you are exposed to enough of it that it actually causes harm; the risk itself may actually be zero or it may be greatly reduced when precautions are taken around that hazard.

HAZARD: A hazard is anything in the workplace that has the potential to harmpeople.
Hazards can include objects in the workplace, such as machinery ordangerous chemicals.
Other hazards relate to the way work is done. For instance, hazards on a production line could include manual handling, excessive noise and fatiguecaused by the pace of work.

RISK: A risk arises when it's possible that a hazard will actually cause harm. The level of risk will depend on factors such as how often the job is done, the number of workers involved and how serious any injuries that result could be.

-------------------------------------------------------
HAZARD: A hazard is something that can cause harm, e.g. electricity, chemicals, working up a ladder, noise, a keyboard, a bully at work, stress, etc.

RISK: A risk is the chance, high or low, that any hazard will actually cause somebody harm.
For example, working alone away from your office can be a hazard. The risk of personal danger may be high. Electric cabling is a hazard. If it has snagged on a sharp object, the exposed wiring places it in a 'high-risk' category.
---------------------------------------------------

HAZARD: A “hazard” means a situation or thing that has the potential to harm a person. Hazards in your business may include: noisy machinery, a moving forklift, chemicals, electricity, working at heights or a repetitive job at your workplace.
RISK: A “risk” is the possibility that harm (death, injury or illness) might occur when exposed to a hazard in your workplace.

RISK CONTROL: “Risk control” means your business taking action to eliminate health and safety risks so far as is reasonably practicable, and if that is not possible, minimising the risks so far as is reasonably practicable. Eliminating a hazard will also eliminate any risks associated with that hazard in your workplace.
